Millie S. Kanyar was born is Santurce, Puerto Rico and is bi-lingual. She graduated from Penn State University in State College, PA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising. She worked for Oscar Mayer & Company in Philadelphia and moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1983. Millie has been an entrepreneur and owned several business before starting a Real Estate career with Watson Realty Corp. She is the Manger for the Ft. Caroline Watson Realty office and a Partner at Affinity Law Firm, P.L. and Tidal Title, L.L.C.
Millie attended Florida Coastal School of Law and was awarded a Juris Doctor degree in 1999. She is currently a member of the American Bar Association (ABA), the Jacksonville Bar Association (JBA), the Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association (JWLA), the Jacksonville Hispanic Bar Association (HBA), the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals and serves on the FCSL Alumni Board of Directors. She is the incoming Vice-President of Information Technologies for the Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association. Her involvement in various organizations evidences her leadership and continued community involvement. More importantly she has been instrumental in recruiting volunteers for various organizations.
She is the past President of the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors (NEFAR) and a Director for both the Florida Association of Realtors (FAR) and the National Association of Realtors (NAR). Millie has served as past President-elect, Treasurer and Secretary for NEFAR and as the Women’s Council of Realtors: State Governor, District Vice President, Local Chapter President, Secretary and Treasurer. In addition Millie has also chaired the NEFAR: Legislative Committee, Public Relations Task Force. She is the current Vice-chair of the FAR Attainable Workforce Housing Subcommittee and has served on the following FAR committees: Legislative & Political Forum, Realtor-Attorney Joint Committee, Business Forms Forum, Risk Management, and Public Policy. Millie is a member of the FAR Honor Society and a past Realtor of the Year for NEFAR.
She is passionate about Real Estate and understands that it may be a challenge at times but there is no other profession that is as exciting and more fulfilling. She is an advocate for home ownership and property rights and totally committed to helping everyone that chooses to be a home owner, accomplish that goal. Home owners are the lifeblood of stable, sustainable communities.
